NC Dem Gov. Bev Perdue doesn't want to have to worry about the next election. How about worrying about the next civil war? Does that work for her?

Mr. President? Janet, Kay and I were talking and we think it would be a great idea if you just suspended the 2012 elections. Yes. . . Yes . . . You do too? Why that's just wonderful."

Ace of Spades writes here about this. No wonder CSGV advocates a "Government Monopoly of Violence."

Speaking to a Cary rotary club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.

"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that," Perdue said. "You want people who don't worry about the next election."

The comment -- which came during a discussion of the economy -- perked more than a few ears. It's unclear whether Perdue, a Democrat, is serious -- but her tone was level and she asked others to support her on the idea.

Read her full remarks below.

"You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we worked across party lines. It's a little bit more contentious now but it's not impossible to try to do what's right in this state. You want people who don't worry about the next election."

Let's see. Suspend an election, get a bloody civil war. . . What's not to like?

When democracy turns to tyranny, I still get to vote.

Love that M1A.
Just what I was thinking...

Come on, Folks! It would just be for the duration of the emergency! What's there to get excited about? The Supercommittee would turn things back over to the regular congress after they got the country back on an even keel.... in 80 or 90 years or so.

My congressman Walter Jones needs to have a serious talk with her. Doofus.

As the saying goes, be silent and thought a fool or open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

Thank you Gov. Bev for removing all doubt.

They always float an idea such as this before it starts to be 'justified' in the MSM....

A quote from "The Last of the Mohicans" seems most appropo when trying to figure out their logic:

"Do not try to understand them, and do not try to make them understand you. For they are a breed apart and make no sense."

So....all that can be said is:

Go.

Ahead.

Bring.

It.

The governor must be feeling froggy, and is asking us to jump.

Buttercup hasn't thought her cunning plan through to it's logical conclusion.

I've said for decades that one day politicians would consider the idea of suspending elections, starting with that despicable, lying whoremonger Clinton. I even expected empty-eyed dunderhead Bush to float such an idea, so he could continue his ridiculous "war on terror" which was actually a clever euphemism for "war on the American people".

As for the inept, condescending, smoothtalking malignant narcissist currently smelling up the White House, I wouldn't put it past that arrogant criminal bastard to engineer a financial or political "crisis" so he could suspend the elections "for the good of the people". Reading from his TelePrompTer, he would harangue that America needed his, and only his, superb and infallible guidance.

Within five minutes or so of his draconian pronouncement, Civil War Two would begin.

Santa, I haven't been the best boy this year, but if you let this crazy bitch and her democrat cohorts actually try this, I PROMISE that I'll be a good shot and a good boy next year...

Honestly, I wish Dimbulb Bev would try to suspend elections. It would serve to further turn citizens against these traitors.

And they'd better go back and read up on the Battle of Athens. I think the Battle of Raleigh would be a lot bloodier. There are a LOT of Threepers hereabouts.

There's one other solution to the problem: If everyone is too worried about the next election to DO HIS JOB, how about if we just impose single term limits on the lot of them? I think that would solve an awful lot of other problems as well. As long as we're willing to take radical emergency steps, I think my idea beats Bev's any day. Thanks for bringing this up, Bev.

Trial balloon - to suggest this with and already republican majority in the house, she knows they're gonna get waxed in 2012.
I'm not looking forward to replacing ballots with bullets, but if that's really what they want...

This is the same governor who suspends the Second Amendment every time it rains or snows in NC.

That photo of silly women in power bothers me. Where are the manly men who are not afraid of guns and who are as stalwart as our Puritan forefathers? I want to vote for some.

That just don't work.
Sorry.

I refrain from swearing. It is undignified and rude. This though is too much.
The gloves are off Miss motherfucker Governor of NC.

I'm not gonna have any of that bullshit by the ruling elite that We The People are incapable crap of deciding for ourselves, (its called "Self Determination" asshole).

Fuck You

You want to suspend elections?
Well declare Marshal Law.
You will get your tyranny.

Shoved right up your arse.

Mt Top Patriot said...

Looks to me like the nuclear option of Marshal Law just hit the table publicly.

Me thinks the ruling political class is very nervous. 100 years of treachery and treason from within is on a knives edge of total fail.

Come on, pull the plug.
I dare you.
Double dare you.

Did anyone notice how fast her support people claimed she was "just joking around?" The good governor has just earned a seat next to Maxine Waters. The one with the dunce caps and the squirting lapel flowers.

It's coming, folks...it's coming!

Stop me if I get this wrong.

She wants Congress to get busy fixing all the crap they've broken over the past 160-170 years? She seems to be under the impression that governments can manage economies. Well, I've got a question for the Governor:

If government can manage the economy, how did we get where we are right now?

Didn't understand the question, Bev? Let me try a rephrasing:

Why didn't the government manage the economy a few years back to prevent (a) the housing bubble, (b) offshoring of jobs, (c) inflation, (d) any of several other bad things that happened to the economy?

Rick,
That's a real military M-14 rifle, being fired by a Navy PO3. Appears to have a selector lug visible below the operating rod handle. Not M1A, OK?

Posted this on FOX this AM when this first broke: People have got to get a grip on this thing. The Constitution of the Republic was written to limit the Goverment, AND its agents, from doing certain things. Not to limit the people. Pass a copy or a link to people who state otherwise. And now we are really seeing why the 2nd Amendment is part of the Constitution. Enjoy the ride people, the Government is getting a little frisky again. Just sayin....

I'm getting ready, cause these fools are making weird noises.

Everybody chill! This is a ploy to get the rhetoric amped up, so that when one of their plausibly deniable drones tries or actually does something, they all get to say "told ya so" and suspend civil liberties.
